Guarded By The Hellhound

Have I ever mentioned how much I love a good quick read? I consume a lot of books, right, and sometimes I just need something short and sweet in the middle of whatever series Iโ€™ve got going or something less intense after a long and traumatizing saga. So let me tell you, when Marit Prins opened ARC sign-ups for her Jensen Ackles/Supernatural-inspired Halloween-vibed novella I SIGNED UP SO, SO FAST.

Now if you donโ€™t know Marit, she JUST celebrated her one-year authorversary (congratulations!) and this upcoming release will be book three in the Accidental Monsters series of standalones. I discovered her through Facebook groups (my savior!) and utterly devoured book one: Demon Satisfier.

So anyway, letโ€™s get into it, because I ate this book up โ€“ I read it in one sitting and it was amazing.

Highlights:
Katherine has a stalker. When she gets a guard dog that also turns out to be a shapeshifting Hellhound, she also gets a bit more than she bargained for ๐Ÿ˜‰

What I thought:
This book was exactly what I hoped it would be โ€“ short, sexy, and action-packed! Usually in a novella of this size I would expect there to be very little plot, but somehow, Prins was able to pack in a well thought out story line with character arcs and intrigue on TOP of the spice – because I do promise, the spice was spicing!!

Iโ€™d also like to point out that as a huge fan of Supernatural, the vibes were immaculate. There was definitely saving people and hunting things.. PLUS pentagrams, creepy churches, doorways to Hell, and just the sexiest of MMCโ€™s. Definitely worth a read this spooky season!
