Wicked Stalker: Review

Guys, I made such a mistake waiting on this one. I was lucky enough to receive an e-ARC for the first book in Zara J Black’s Captives of Onyx Brotherhood series, but weeks before release. Usually I am right on these things, but I got caught up in ABSOLUTE WHIRLWIND of holiday reads and have now finally caught up on Wicked Stalker. Let me just say, WOW, I should not have waited.

P.s. Black’s To Collar A Queen was one of the first books that introduced me to dark romance, and I was immediately hooked. To be able to then ARC read another phenomenal book by her, was just… the absolute coolest.

Highlights:
Taken against her will, can Eve learn to love her captor and the life he’s forced to bring her into?

What I thought:
THIS IS THE KIND OF BOOK I NEED MORE OF (which is super fortunate since it’s a series!). I mean, WOWZA. It’s a captive romance, but how can you not just straight up fall in love with our Gabriel?! You can’t. You absolutely can’t. Eve is a strong woman, but she’s got a gap in her soul she doesn’t even know is there, and guess who is just READY to fill it – you guessed it – a perfect pairing if I ever saw one… you know, dark romance style.

Anyway – the story was a perfect slow but spicy burn, with fantastic twists and turns. Just in book one, Black has created a unique world we can immerse our dark little hearts in. The ending had me absolutely screaming, and we roll right into book two which I absolutely cannot wait for.
