The book world is so freaking cool guys, I’d like to just say that for the one millionth time.
I was lucky enough to virtually meet author Runa Nelson while beta reading for another author (Ella Jacobs, love 🖤). One thing led to another, and I was able to beta read her latest Christmas Novella, Widows Wear Black! I honestly didn’t know a lot about beta reading until recently, and I absolutely didn’t realize it was just an amazing experience I was missing out on. I wholeheartedly enjoyed my read for Ella, and had just as much fun reading Runa’s latest and interacting with her other beta’s live! She is super cool herself, and I’m feeling like this will be my gateway drug into her other works – BRING IT ON.
Highlights:
Kyree’s not sure what was more unexpected, getting kidnapped by the handsome Fenix, liking it so much, or the present he has waiting for her…
What I thought:
This book had absolutely NO RIGHT being as funny as it was! It’s kind of got some serious topics, you know? Like… kidnapping, degradation, murder… and yet, I found myself laughing out loud at least once every chapter. It’s a quick story, yet somehow filled with enough twists and turns that I had no idea what was coming. And when it did come – WOW, I was floored and amazed. Our MMC honestly makes you swoon from the moment he takes his woman, and our FMC is a ton of fun. A great entry to Ms. Nelson, I’m excited to get more! OH, and did I mention, it’s holiday themed? What could be better.
