Never Let Go: Review

Lauren Biel has got me in her sights, friends – and her captive series (2 books) is hittin’ it.

Highlights:
Mackenzie is in trouble. Taken from the streets and locked in a basement, she finds herself the prey of a dangerous duo, but maybe she’s not the only one kept against her will…

Triggers/tropes: Female captor, sex between captors, abduction, torture/abuse, sexual assault, heavy non con talk/history, dub con, off page childbirth loss, starvation, murder

What I thought:
OK, at this point, I’m used to actively rooting for the villain, but what I’m not used to is wanting AND GETTING an actual happy ending. This book was a total mindf*ck and it was incredible. The female/male kidnapper dynamic was great, very unexpected when I went in!, and I loved how it developed throughout the book. I wasn’t expecting anything that happened, truly, the twists and the turns really got me. Our FMC was truly a gem – she uses humor as a coping mechanism and IF THAT ISN’T HIGHLY RELATABLE IDK WHAT IS, and our MMC was really someone you wanted to root for once you got his whole story. It was a great read, and if we had you at the trigger warnings, give it a good look.
