Lol, guys. Guys….
I recently went on vacation and was having a bit of a book dilemma – everything I was reading was just TOO. INTENSE. Said vacation was spent hanging by the pool and truly, there was just no room for emotional trauma. I had a Katee Robert book with me, but I really wanted something on my Kindle so I took a stab at this WILD ride. I can’t even begin to tell you HOW I found Clio Evans and her Creature Cafe series, but WOW I’m glad I did. Truly, I’m laughing just thinking about how this happened and how deliriously happy it made me on vaca.
Highlights:
We don’t exactly know WHAT The Barista is, but we do know that he has a knack for matching souls. Creatures and humans go to him looking for love, and man do they find it… and more…

What I thought:
The grip these books have on me, I swear…
This series is just so fun. Each book is short, I’m talking 100ish pages, and a fully formed story with interconnecting plots as the series progresses. They are like 75% smut and 25% drama, and each has a HEA and just… a TON of hilarious kinks. I blew through the first 7 stories and each was just so, so fun! From a super broody incubus to an adorable werewolf/werecat couple, I honestly don’t know which book I liked best so far, but I know I can’t wait to finish the rest. I’m halfway through the series, and I suspect it’s only going to get better.
P.s. if there were ever a “beach read” series for dark romance smut readers, this would be it!
P.p.s my husband was laughing so hard when I told him each plot line. Anyone who knows him would just DIE imagining his reaction to me describing “tentacle sex,” among other things, LOL
