Delivered to the Devil: Review

Gird your loins, people… we have reached the peak. You know when someone says a book is dark, and you question your sanity when you think it’s not that bad? Then, you keep looking for darker and darker stuff, hoping to at some point reach that top tier shit? Just me? No?

Anyway…I think I’ve found the top… and, if this is your cup of tea, it’s good. It. Is. Good.

Highlights:
Rebecca is doomed, it’s as simple as that. When a powerfully corrupt politician sets his sights on her, there’s no escape, especially not with his second in command in charge of her.

Trigger Warnings: just gonna link to the authors website here… it’s an extensive list…

What I thought:
Like I said, this book is peak darkness – pitch black, if you will. It’s 100% non consensual, with I SUPPOSE some consensual non consent at a certain point, and features pretty much all the triggers. I honestly don’t know exactly what else to say about that, other than, it’s what I’ve been looking for. Don’t get me wrong, I like a bit of variety, but when I say I’ve been looking for the darkest of dark, I think this might be it.

I really enjoyed this book. There was so much trauma that at times it was hard to connect with the characters beyond it, but I could FEEL every single thing, and those feelings have stuck with me. The author did such a good job explaining what was going through each MC’s mind and how that translated into actions, and honestly, I haven’t stopped thinking about the story since the moment I finished it.

If you really, truly, are looking for something with a lot of triggers that can just drag you into the depths of depravity, I think you’ll find something special here. And if you do – hit me up, we are a rare breed 😉

BONUS REVIEW
Rather than do a whole review of this… I’m just going to add it in here. If the above description and thoughts in any way intrigued you, but you want to start smaller, I’d highly recommend Ella Jacobs novella His in the Darkness. It’s a super quick read about a girl who gets kidnapped and held hostage by a coworker… and lots of stuff happens. I started here and once I found the style and topics were good for me, I moved on to Delivered to the Devil. Loved!!
