Slay Less: Review

OK people, I’ve finished my first “boat book” of the season!!! TECHNICALLY I started this one on land, but I finished the last 50% gloriously floating on the Chesapeake Bay narrating to my husband because I was just loving it. And frankly, if the man ever picked up a book, he would love it too.

Highlights:
All Delaney wants is a good story to fuel her romance novel… but will a haunted hotel and her lovestruck stepbrother let her have it?

What I thought:
This was just so fun. Like Paige’s other Final Girls books, this one is truly a love letter to all us horror girlies. Like its muses, the story is just ridiculous. There’s a haunted house, a killer stepbrother (who harbors a secret, forbidden love), a naive virgin, a masked killer, a cursed lineage, and smut, on smut, on smut! My favorite part though – the easter eggs and the hilarious realism. There were a few twists on The Shining characters that made me geek out, and the MMC in a Michael Myers mask was perfection. Plus, the FMC  is working on a smutty romance, which is just *chef’s kiss* as we’re all reading it right there.

Overall, I thought Slay Less was a fast-paced, fun, deliciously smutty, horror romance, great for any time of year.
