You know, I have a real soft spot for the Wicked Villains series by Katee Robert. The thing is, there’s not much to these. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, they’re mostly smut with a little plot line sprinkled in… but MAN, do I enjoy them.

What happens when why choose becomes.. must choose? IT DOESN’T GO GREAT, SPOILER ALERT. But if Beast gets his way, everything will work out…
What I thought:
You know what these books are? A great, easy, palette cleanser. I just came off a pretty heavy fantasy book, I’m trying to make it through the BEAST (no pun intended) that is Game of Gods, and I’ve got another hefty fantasy on audio. On top of that, I’m studying for a graduate school exam and it’s all just so HEAVY sometimes. That said, The Beast was just the perfect read to give me a bit of a break. I did end up neglecting my heavier topics for it, but in just a few sittings I got some smut, some fun, and a great story. Love that for me, and love that for this series.
P.s. I really enjoy the little tie in’s these books give. I think they are all technically standalones, but within the same world so you get appearances by, and somethings interactions with, characters you’re already invested in. I also like the little teasers Robert gives for the next book. There’s always something to leave you wanting more.
