What I thought:
I should have never feared, this was a Katee Robert “retelling”! I’ve been reading her Wicked Villains series, so I should have assumed that similar to those books, this wouldn’t so much be a retelling but rather a story of its own account. It had big Greek mythology energy, easter eggs galore, and IT. WAS. GREAT. I’ve always loved the vibe Hades and Persephone give off – clearly it’s where my morally gray obsession has came from, anyone else? … – and this book added a fun modern day twist. Next up – Electric Idol.
