When She Loves: Review

Whelp, I finally did it. I caved and read a mafia romance novel. They say it’s “dark romance,” but at this point… I’ve gone so far into “dark” crap, this barely qualifies. Either way, I think I’ve been converted.

Highlights:
Cleo is in a tough spot. To get her pregnant sister out of an arranged marriage, she must do what she’s spent her whole life avoiding – become a mob wife. DUN DUN DUNNNN.

What I thought:
Great, fun read. There’s not a whole lot to this book, but it was exactly what I expected it to be – forced marriage, controlling husband and rebellious wife, tragic backstories, murder – like I said, exactly what I expected a mafia romance to be. It was infuriating at times, but I did have to remind myself the main character is supposed to be a literal teenager (19, they marry ‘em young), and the end was satisfying enough to placate me. This is the fourth in The Fallen series, but rest assured it can be read as a standalone. In fact, I’m hoping that some of the reviews are correct in steering me to actually read this first! The other three books in the series are side characters in this one and I’m intrigued! Stay tuned.

P.s. please excuse these short reviews. I’ve been enjoying some easy reading but, unsurprisingly, it does then make for quick and easy reviews. Not everything can be Manacled or Crescent City, and sometimes that’s ok!!
