No One Has To Know: Review

LISTEN – guys, listen. I am unwell. Despite the fact that I have an unending TBR, I decided to download and start reading Manacled – the infamous Dramoine fanfic (it’s Harry Potter, Draco and Hermione.. look it up), and IT. IS. GOOD. It’s also incredibly long and emotionally traumatizing. More on that later if it doesn’t kill me in the end….

SO ANYWAY, I was hungover on Saturday (truth time – neighborhood bingo was lit) and needed something quick and dirty. No pun intended, but this read was literally just that… ok, pun intended, lol.

Highlights:
Girl loves flowers, girl gets attacked at knifepoint, cop saves girl, cop kidnaps girl. But.. is there more to it?

TW’s: stalking, kidnapping, murder, dubcon

What I thought:
This was a fun read. There’s honestly not much to this book, which is exactly what I needed. I laid in bed and finished in two hours, which was just perfect – any longer and I probably would have wanted to kill each of the characters. Towards the end, I’ll be honest, I was gearing up for disappointment. It was getting dangerously close to overly predictable, and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how the MMC was going to keep up the prisoner/wife situation he created for himself. Then all of a sudden, BOOM, twist ending. This book proves good writing comes in all forms. On the surface, No One Has To Know is a typical KU quick-read – simple kidnap smut. Yet, in the end, it was so much more than that. Bravo.
