Satan’s Affair: Review

It’s tough to review a series. Usually, I like to see what the vibe is first – if the books are too interconnected, I have a hard time not spoiling one while reviewing the other. But I’m halfway through book 2 of the Cat and Mouse Duet, and officially giving myself the green light to review this lovely prequel and book one [coming soon].

“Lovely,” lol… you’ll see…

Highlights:
This is a novella prequel to the Cat and Mouse Duet, though you could skip it and be fine.

Sibby sees evil people, all day, every day. She sees them mingling with the crowd at the Satan’s Affair Carnival, and she sees them come through the haunted house where she resides. With the help of her minions, she must rid the world of their presence…

TW’s: graphic violence and explicit sexual scenes

What I thought:
This book was a slasher flick in print! Truly, it was a masterpiece of blood, guts, and all kinds of crazy. There aren’t very many female serial killer stories out there, and Sibby’s was your classic traumatized girl turns killer. Not the most original trope, but it works for her, and I loved her story. The plot twist had me in the end, and I loved going into Haunting Adeline and seeing where the stories intersected. I don’t think reading this is necessary to get the full Cat and Mouse experience, but if you want a bit of violence (and Halloween theme!), then you should go ahead and pick this up. It would also be a great quick read between Haunting and Hunting Adeline.
