I’ve almost finished the Never After books… and TBH I think I need a break. The spice seems to be waning and the stories are blending together. That said, I still love this series. I know she’s working on one more, so I’ll be waiting for that to arrive to finish the rest together!
IN THE MEANTIME, I’m still getting through Crescent City 3, and IDK about you all but it’s slow going. NOT because it is anything other than amazing, because my God it really is, but because it’s just been emotionally exhausting. We all know how HOSAB ended… and so far, HOFAS picked up right. there. Now that I’ve finished Twisted though… getting to it, I promise… I’m back on the Hunting Adeline train, via audio, so ya’ll pray for me.
Highlights:
In love with her childhood friend but forced to marry her father’s ruthless right-hand man, what is a privileged girl to do?! Well, she’s going to brood a lot, he’s going to brood a lot, and everyone is going to learn how to face the consequences of their own actions.
What I thought:
OMG THE SLOW BURN. This is the slowest burn I’ve ever experienced, and it almost killed me. I mean, I was about to notch this audio up to 3x speed just waiting for someone to do SOMETHING to SOMEONE. It’s a good story. A nice twist on Aladdin with some fun easter eggs, but it was a little bit of the same for me. It was a lot of complaining, and I think we could’ve had more storyline beyond the two main characters actively hating on each other. Not my favorite of the series, but I stand by my love of these books (especially for walking and multi-tasking).
