So if you recall… book club agreed to read some smut for February! Now, I’m not sure how high on the smut listing this is, it honestly just might be high category spice, but either way we went with it!
Highlights:
Evelina is the bad guy. She deals drugs, GROWS drugs, shoots people, and has never quite recovered from her sister’s untimely death. Nick is a good guy. He’s an undercover cop, takes care of his sister, and has it in for Evelina’s family business. So what happens when the hero falls for the villain?
What I thought:
UGH, I wanted to like this more! I LOVED the previous books in the Ever After series, so I’m not sure why this one didn’t hit right. It might have been because it’s a bit tamer – I’m wondering if once you go Haunting Adeline, you just cant go back – or it could have been because the story wasn’t as compelling to me. I think I was OK with the FMC being the villain, but maybe I wasn’t? Maybe the story just didn’t hit right, but either way it wasn’t one of my favorites. That’s not to say I didn’t like it at all, because it did have some fun elements and was an easy audio read, but it won’t rank as a top fav for me.
